Board of Directors bid farewell to Derek Ford

The APPMA regretfully announce Director Derek Ford’s recent resignation from his position on the APPMA Board.

In accordance with the APPMA Constitution, a Director elected in accordance with rule 12 must be a Representative, employee or director of the Full Member that nominated the Director for election. Unfortunately, Derek’s recent departure from Visy results in having to resign his position as a Director. Also in accordance with the Constitution, Visy is provided with the opportunity to nominate a suitable replacement from their senior management team to fill the vacancy.  An announcement regarding the vacancy is expected to be made early in 2021.

On behalf of the APPMA Board, management team and members, we would like to sincerely thank Derek for his years of service.

Derek has been a valued member of the APPMA Board, initially serving two terms as the member representative for ABB from 2006-2008, and then being re-elected as a Visy Automation representative from 2012-2020. Since his election as Director, Derek has played a major role as both a Board member and key contributor and participant on a number of working groups including the AUSPACK and membership committees.

Derek’s passion and diverse experience within the industry, along with his strategic insights and knowledge will be sorely missed. We wish Derek all the best in his future endeavours.
